In 2017, Lao Cai – Northwest region will be busy with many cultural and artistic programs to promote their image and introduce their regional specialties to become a tourist destination.
With many beautiful landscapes and cultural diversity, Lao Cai - Northwest region is expected to attract domestic and foreign visitors in 2017.
The national tourism year of 2017 is hosted by Lao Cai with the participation of eight expanded Northwest provinces: Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, Son La, Lai Chau, Dien Bien and Ha Giang. Other provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang, Can Tho and TP. Ho Chi Minh ... also responded with many active activities.
At the recent opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year of 2017 - Lao Cai – Northwest Region, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Economic Commission, Head of the Northwest Command Committee emphasized: “In the 30 years of national renewal, the tourism industry has always been identified by our Party and State as an important economic sector, with many advantages and high added value, which needs priority for development. In recent years, tourism in Vietnam in general and that of the Northwestern region and Lao Cai in particular has made remarkable progress and achieved encouraging results.”
Promoting that advantage with the theme "Colors of the Northwest region", the national tourism year of 2017 was organized to contribute to honoring cultural values, promoting the image of the Northwest region with diverse cultural space, majestic landscapes, rich ecosystems and an ideal destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, the opening of the national tourism year of 2017 marks the beginning of activities to realize the goal of building tourism to become a key economic sector of the country. By practical actions of all levels of government, business community and people, tourism in the Northwest region in particular and Vietnam tourism in general will have a breakthrough development in 2017.
According to the organizers of the National Tourism Year of 2017 - Lao Cai – Northwest region, this event will create a chain of cultural, sports and tourism activities. For example, in Lao Cai, there will be the Spring Festival of Thuong Temple (first quarter), Summer Festival (second quarter) in Sapa district; Bac Ha Horse hooves white plateau program (June 2017); Autumn festival (third quarter) in Y Ty commune (Bat Xat); Winter festival (fourth quarter) in Sapa. Meanwhile in Dien Bien will organize the "Field trip to conquer the crossroads of A Pa Chai border" in November 2017; "Khèn Mong Festival, associated with the Triangle Flower Festival" in October in Ha Giang ...
Another highlight in this event is the community tourism to introduce the beauty of people, culture, and lifestyle of the Northwest ethnic community to domestic and foreign tourists. Different products are introduced: journey to explore rice terraces; upland market; spiritual tours through Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Phu Tho; spiritual tours along the Da River through the provinces of Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien and Lai Chau; "Northwest Flower" tour; the "Legendary Footprint" travel program - explore marching routes in the historic Dien Bien campaign; “Conquer the peak" tour will be opened to serve visitors to the Northwest region in 2017.
As the host in the National Tourism Year of 2017, Lao Cai province will invest in building new typical tourism products such as: upgrading a number of community-based tourist attractions to serve tourist,, investing in tourism products associated with the cultural heritage of Lao Cai terraced fields. In addition, Lao Cai province will make use of upland markets to serve tourists under the upland fair market program; chained spiritual tourism products; tourism-thematic products on conquering the peak, flowers ...
According to Mr. Dang Xuan Phong - Chairman of Lao Cai People's Committee, the National Tourism Year of 2017 - Lao Cai – Northwest Region is an opportunity to introduce and promote potential tourism of Vietnam in general and in particular of Lao Cai – Northwest region. To organize the National Tourism Year of 2017 effectively, Lao Cai and the Northwest provinces with the highest determination have been making efforts to improve its infrastructure; provide human resource training; preserve and promote tangible and intangible cultural values; improve service quality; collaborate between regions and locality to build typical tourism products in order to bring visitors many interesting experiences about the culture, landscape, and Northwestern people.
