If you come to Vietnam during Tet holiday as a tourist, you can not ignore Moc Chau plateau, Son La province because of its beautiful natural scenery and rich culture.
A special feature of Moc Chau at the end of the year is the atmosphere of preparing and enjoying Tet of H'Mong people in December (Lunar calendar).
A joyful and bustling atmosphere has appeared in every village, from Long Luong, Tan Lap, Long Sap, Chieng Xuan, Chieng Son, to Phieng Canh and Pa Phach even before the Lunar New Year starts.
Tet is an opportunity for H’Mong people to relax, meet each other and talk. Everyone wears new clothes regardless of gender and age. Families and friends usually gather in the fields and large yard to exchange conversations.
H’Mong children get to wear new clothes, play traditional games such as spinning, throwing pao...Men gather to eat while women organize traditional dances.
Joy and innocence are evident on H’Mong children's face on New Year's Day.
Photographer Nguyen Vu Phuoc said: "The beauty of chilly weather, fields after fields of mustard greens and buckwheat flowers, thousands of plump and peach trees blooming, and brilliant colors of Hmong children's clothes have created a unique place that you can not find anywhere else."
Moc Chau is the most beautiful and largest plateau in the Northern mountainous region with cool weather throughout the year. It has became a famous tourist destination. Some of the attractive places are the green tea hills, Ngu Dong Ban On, Dong Sang commune, Ang village, Dai Yem waterfall or Ang village pine forest.
